Cities we Deserve
March 24, 2026 (5:30 PM - 8:30 PM) (EDT)
Description

You don’t want to be hearing about this conversation after it happens, you’ll want to be in the room when it does.
Join us on March 24 for a dynamic, live panel inspired by the ideas in Messy Cities, a thought-provoking look at how real cities actually grow: organically, imperfectly, and creatively. Even more exciting, this conversation will feature co-editors of the book themselves, including Dylan Reid, John Lorinc, Leslie Woo, and Zahra Ebrahim, bringing first-hand insight into the ideas shaping the future of our cities.

Together, we’ll explore how these ideas show up right here in Brampton and across suburban communities everywhere.
From car-oriented corridors and thriving plaza economies to grassroots business and community adaptations, this conversation will unpack how suburban spaces are evolving, and why understanding this “messy” urbanism matters for our economic and community future. More importantly, we’ll work toward building a shared language that helps business leaders, planners, and residents better understand the places we live and work.
Adding to the energy, the conversation will be recorded live as an episode of Never Bored of Trade, hosted by Vijai Singh and Jaipaul Massey-Singh, alongside our media partner Y Media, giving attendees a front-row seat to an authentic, unscripted discussion.
This event is part of the Cities We Deserve conversation series, where the Board of Trade brings together diverse, unconventional voices to help shape the next chapter of city-building.
If you care about the future of business, community, and growth in suburban cities, this is a conversation you don’t want to miss. Space is limited, secure your seat and be part of the dialogue shaping what comes next.
