Skilled Labour Roundtable with Dave Cassidy
January 15, 2025 (8:30 AM - 11:00 AM) (EST)
Description
As Ontario’s economy accelerates its transition to electric vehicles (EVs) and buttresses its advanced manufacturing, Brampton is positioned to play a leading role. However, this growth is contingent on addressing key challenges, including attracting and developing skilled trades talent, fostering stronger industry-education alignment, and addressing red tape.
This roundtable will convene local leaders from the automotive, advanced manufacturing, and postsecondary sectors to discuss:
- Talent acquisition, retention strategies, training and upskilling initiatives
- Employer-led solutions to enhance Brampton's skilled workforce.
- Reducing red tape in getting more skilled labour
The Brampton Board of Trade will be hosting Dave Cassidy, Skilled Trades Special Advisor, to facilitate a discussion with local employers on solutions to addressing labour shortages.
Roundtable event by invitation only. Please contact Vijai Singh - vsingh@bramptonbot.com
